The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house having a combined gross home earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined family income won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
